Exploration Geologist- Relocation

A fantastic opportunity has risen from one of our Australian mining partners. As an Exploration Geologist you are responsible for assisting the planning and implementation of all exploration and resource definition activities at one of Western Australia’s Gold Projects, including target identification development and interpretation, and interpretation of 3D orebodies for resource modelling, to be conducted in a safe, efficient and effective manner, and within the planned budget. Assistance with reporting to the Department of mines, industry Regulations and Safety in order to comply with statutory requirements needed to maintain tenure and licence to operation.

Key skills and experience
  • Minimum of bachelor’s degree in Geology
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in gold exploration, previous experience in regional and remote locations, and 2 years in 3D orebody interpretation
  • Substantial drill planning and supervision experience (DD, RC, AC)
  • Excellent GIS skills (ArcGIS) strong 3D software skills in Micromine, Leapfrog or Vulcan
  • Experience with industry standard software and QAQC procedures
  • Ability to work to deadlines, prioritise and manage work to achieve agreed outcomes
  • Enthusiasm and drive, maintaining positive relationships and ability to encourage, support and motivate team members
  • Good communicator effective both verbally and written.

Maintenance Superintendent

Burkina FasoFixed Term$150+
Our client is a mid-tier gold producer with major growths plans across West Africa. They are looking for a Maintenance Superintendent to work on one of their sites in Burkina Faso. The primary focus of this role is managing the maintenance activities of the fixed and mobile assets including plant. This position is on a 6/3 roster from any major capital cities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that plant and equipment repair is carried out in a productive and cost-effective manner
  • Make sure all faults and mechanical defects to equipment are promptly reported to the Maintenance Manager
  • Liaise with the Production Superintendent in respect of equipment servicing and preventive maintenance scheduling
  • Coordinate the activities of the maintenance team to ensure that all necessary repairs are carried out promptly and effectively
  • Coordinate diagnosis and fault-finding activities on complex machinery and equipment using mechanical, low voltage electrical, hydraulic and/or pneumatic principles
  • Ensure the availability of all plant and equipment parts required are readily available
  • Produce accurate and detailed daily maintenance reports
  • Ensure a safe working environment is maintained

Experience:

  • Trade certified in heavy duty equipment or equivalent is essential
  • Tertiary qualification relating to maintenance from a recognised institution is highly regarded
  • Previous experience in a similar role in the mining industry
  • 6-8 years working experience on earth moving machinery
  • French language skills will be highly regarded
  • International Driving Licence and valid Passport is essential
  • Experience working in developing countries is desirable

Plant Metallurgist

Burkina FasoPermanent$130+
Our client is a mid-tier gold producer with major growths plans across West Africa. They are looking for a Senior Metallurgist to work on one of their sites in Burkina Faso. The primary focus of this role is managing the metallurgical accounting, laboratory support and assisting with setting up parameter boards and metallurgical projects This position is on a 6/3 roster from any major capital cities.

Responsibilities:

  • Delivering high-quality support to the operations team to assist with daily metallurgical operations;
  • Coordinating with maintenance and processing personnel to ensure optimum performance of the plant;
  • Implementing and maintaining short and medium-term planning to provide accurate detailed forecasts;
  • Implement improvements to the plant;
  • Undertaking various improvement and investigative project work;
  • Complete daily, weekly and monthly metallurgical accounting, prepare weekly and other required forecasts and provide an explanation on variance from budget, forecast and guidance targets.

Experience:

  • Tertiary Qualifications – Degree in metallurgy, chemical or process
  • Demonstrated experience in a gold CIL processing (approx. 2-5 years’ experience)
  • High-level communication skills
  • High-level systems experience
  • Flexibility and a mature attitude
